Carling launches the new Carling Taste Lock Can. The new Taste Lock Can features an IMPROVED CAN SEAM, to help prevent the beer picking up any metallic notes when packaged in the can; A TWO STAGE "IN CAN" LINER to protect the beer from the metal of the can itself and help prevent the beer from developing any metallic taste and a TEMPERATURE SENSITIVE "PADLOCK" shaped device on the can uses thermochromic ink which goes blue when it’s cold so you know when it’s the perfect time to ‘unlock’ and enjoy a great Carling experience.

Employees take part in volunteering during April - the company's global volunteering 'Month of Action' where Molson Coors employees from around the globe are participating in community activities. One of the projects is sprucing up the local RSPCA Centre in Stretton during RSPCA Week (26 April to 2 May 2010).

Molson Coors (UK) celebrates the end of their successful three-year partnership with learning disability charity, Mencap after raising nearly £250,000. Mencap has been the brewer's charity partner since early 2007, the first time the company had partnered with one national charity. In that time, employees from across the business have given more than 2,000 hours of volunteering work with the charity including decorating and gardening at several Mencap residential homes.

This year's biggest innovation in beer at home is here as Molson Coors (UK) launches Home Draught, a draught beer system filled with ten pints of beer that fits easily into the fridge for the perfect cold pint at home. As the first system to offer a choice of different draught beer brands in the home, Home Draught is available in Carling, the UK's best-selling beer and award winning Coors Light and Grolsch. The Home Draught system fulfils a dream for any draught beer fan - great tasting chilled beer on tap straight from the fridge and ready for any occasion.

Carling has announces a three year deal with Scottish Rugby, which sees it become the official beer of Scottish Rugby and Murrayfield stadium. This is the latest in a string of high profile sponsorships which has seen Carling become one of the most prolific investors in Scottish sport. As part of the sponsorship deal, Carling will have a major presence at Murrayfield stadium, where the brand will be visible on billboards, LED Pitch boards, bars inside and outside the stadium and staff uniforms.

Molson Coors Brewing Company (UK) Limited becomes the first brewer to be a founding signatory of WRAP's Courtauld Commitment 2. The Courtauld Commitment was a voluntary agreement between WRAP and major UK grocery retailers and brand owners that supports less packaging and food waste ending up in household bins. Courtauld Commitment 2 moves away from solely weight-based targets and aims to achieve more sustainable use of resources over the entire lifecycle of products, throughout the whole supply chain.

The Cobra Beer Partnership is officially launched at a media dinner in October. The event, held at stylish Indian restaurant Mint Leaf in London, was a platform to introduce the new Cobra Beer Partnership team as well as an opportunity to discuss the £10m marketing investment in the brand by Molson Coors.

Planning Solutions Ltd announces that it will be opening a brewing visitor centre and museum in Burton on Trent called The National Brewery Centre in 2010. This will be based at the Horninglow Road site of the Coors Visitor Centre and Museum of Brewing (formerly the Bass Museum) which closed in 2008. Molson Coors will provide the buildings and artefacts at a peppercorn rent, donate £200,000 in matched funding to get the project off the ground and a further £100,000 annually for the maintenance of the buildings for the duration of a 25-year lease.

Plans are approved to create a Molson Coors business in the Republic of Ireland. Coors Light, Carling and Cobra are already available in Ireland and new brands will be introduced before the end of 2009. Molson Coors opens an Irish office in the west Dublin area (Maynooth). The sales team is expanded and a team of passionate, committed people who can make our brands extraordinary in Ireland are recruited.

Cobra and Grolsch secure places among the list of the UK's coolest brands for 2009/10. 'CoolBrands' is an initiative from Superbrands Ltd - the world's leading authority on branding and is considered a key barometer of the brands, people and places that have "become extremely desirable among many style leaders and influencers."

Molson Coors employees go the extra mile and raise a total of £45,000 during Mega Mencap fundraising week. From canoe rides to 3-legged races and walks to 3-peak challenges, everyone had a chance to get involved and raise this fantastic figure. Molson Coors topped up the figure to a grand total of £70,000!

"This is a positive move which clearly signals our company's parentage and recognises the influence and contribution of both the Molson and Coors families in co-creating one of the world's most significant brewing organisations."

Coors Brewers Ltd moves the Telesales and Free Trade support team from its current offices in Headlingley to purpose-build premises in Thorpe Park, Leeds.
Coors had been based in Headlingley for 25 years since it was Bass Brewers. As times have changed over the years it's now time to move the team to brand new premises.

Coors Brewers launches the BitterSweet Partnership to remove the gender imbalance that exists around beer consumption - and make beer a real choice for women.
The BitterSweet team is run by a five-strong team of women for women. These insights will lead to new initiatives from BitterSweet and inform the way Coors brands engage with women in the future.

Staff at Coors Brewers across the UK, raised a total of £33k for its corporate charity, Mencap on a charity challenge day on Thursday 27 November. Around 20 teams from Coors Brewers embarked on a day of fun activities taking place across Burton-on-Trent and sites in the UK, ranging from bag packing at local supermarkets, to charity car washes and penalty shoot-outs.

Nearly 30 Coors employees completed the Great North Run to raise more than 10,000 pounds for Mencap - Coors official charity. The Great North Run is the world's biggest half-marathon in Newcastle upon Tyne. The team included 20 from the COT (Coors Off Trade) department and six from the IS team in Burton upon Trent.

Two Coors employees from Burton and Cardiff took to the skies to experience the thrill of a lifetime whilst raising money for learning disability charity, Mencap. Owain Southwell and Jo Finch completed the parachute jump - strapped to a British Parachute Association instructor - at speeds of up to 120 mph.
